"I just want to say how amazing your media lists are. I purchased the Parenting media list when we finished the latest version of our Australian Twin Pram Buying Guide, as I thought the editors might be interested in this free download. The results from our media campaign were way beyond what I expected. That evening I sent out emails individually to each of the 20 or so publications listed, and within 1 hr I had a reply from the Sunday Herald Sun, saying they’d include it in their weekend Baby Steps feature, and they did. We also had a reply from a Melbourne based weekly newspaper who did a contra deal with us and we are receiving a free quarter page ad worth $1250 in the next edition along with a profile in their online stores section, and Little One Baby a new glossy mag also asked for some photos of our best selling products as they are doing a twins feature. Apart from this, we have had a number of orders recently where customers said they heard about us in a ‘magazine’ so we are assuming we’ve received more coverage that we just don’t know about. Funnily enough I had paid a friend of mine to start researching and putting a media list together for us. She found it very difficult, not really knowing where to start and spending quite a bit of time online and on the phone trying to gather this info, and in the end we abandoned the whole project and gave up as it was too hard. So when I saw the Handle Your Own PR site I was very intrigued, and when I tried it I was really impressed. I’ve since purchased the Mothers Day database too. It’s one of those few business tools where you can really see a high ROI. "

Most of these contacts have been personally approached by us and are ready and waiting to hear your ideas. In a few cases where we have not been able to get in touch with the individual, we have listed the general website and phone number.

Occasionally you will find that your email 'bounces back' as the person has moved on. Do let us know if this happens. We have provided the phone number for each contact too, so if they have left or the email is returned, try calling to find out the new person is and their contact details.
overlaps between contact lists
You may find that there is a little bit of overlap between lists. For example a contact at Marie Claire may appear on the Women's Magazines list and also the Fashion Magazines list. Unfortunately this was unavoidable. If your business, product or service does not fit into any of the below categories you may need a specially tailored list. contact us and we can discuss your needs further and create a more relevant list for you.
how the lists are set up
The lists have been created for targeting specific markets. For instance, the 'parenting and kids' section covers parenting websites, magazines and women's magazines, the 'news' section has newspaper contacts for news desks nationally and the 'Lifestyle' section has lists for everything from Gardening to Beauty and Fashion to Bridal media. The lists are set up in a table with the media outlet, contact name, email address and phone number. They are supplied in csv form so you can just download them and open them in Excell or into Outlook. whatever suits you!
